Mates are important
Why do so many blokes feel isolated? Is it because we're out of practice in connecting with others? Have we forgotten how good it feels to share our hobbies and dreams with good mates? Building real friendship takes time and effort, and as most of us are time poor, sometimes we need a hand.
So what is ‘Bring A Mate’ about?
It's all about helping men realise that alone you're only half as great as you can be. We all need mates to encourage us to be a better friend, husband, dad, college, employee or boss. Men In Action encourages men to spend time with other blokes and all the research confirms that involving mates in your life is critical to your mental and spiritual wellbeing, through the good times and the bad.
Reducing Isolation
Having time out by yourself is good, but too much time alone can become unhealthy. So choose to have good men around you regularly. Reaching out to others when times are tough happens more naturally when you've spent time with other guys in the good times too.
Overcoming excuses
Bring A Mate is about encouraging men to overcome shyness, tiredness and the fear of what others think, and instead focus on establishing and building great relationships with other men in your world. This takes time, so remembering to Bring A Mate to share in whatever you're doing will make it easier to fit in with your life style and family / work / community commitments.
